One of the biggest arguments I ever had in 5th grade was how you didn’t actually have to push SELECT, START at the end of the code, just START. People were idiots and wanted to argue against the PROVABLE FACTS.

I can't recall playing any of the sequels...just NES Contra. One of the crowning achievements of my childhood was beating that fucker solo with no code and no Game Genie. Paused right near the end and called my friends over and even my mom came in and watched. People were actually cheering for some nerdy kid beating a video game haha. Then we went to Show-Biz pizza and played more games since it was a Thursday and there was just a cover charge and everything was set to free play. It was a good day.

I didn’t mind using the laser. very powerful in its own right.

As for the code, I like to point out to people that some games got really ridiculous with their cheat codes; like Ikari Warriors. At least 40% of the games program code is the cheat code because its so long!
